The actor has made a big sacrifice!
Ranveer Singh has finally ditched his beard that he had groomed with a lot of love and care for his role of Alauddin Khilji in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati.
He went live on Instagram and just couldn't take his hands off his 'priced possession'.
'I am very, very attached to my facial hair, my dadhi and my handlebar moustache,' he says, stroking it. 'But life has its funny ways and it's time for the dadhi to go!'
The last time he shaved his beard after Bajirao Mastani, girlfriend Deepika Padukone had done the needful for him. She had chopped off his moustache and beard.
His pal Arjun Kapoor had also given him a trim when they were filming Gunday.
"But this time I don't have the budget for Arjun Kapoor and definitely don't have the budget for Deepika Padukone," he says with a grin.
"I am nervous and my hands are shaking," Ranveer adds, as he starts trimming his facial hair.
His 'comfort song' Urvashi Urvashi from Hum Se Hai Muqabala played in the background to help raise his spirits.
'Such is life,' he concludes the video.
Sharing the above picture, Ranveer wrote, 'Before Mundan - After Mundan.'
'Shearing my sheepish look with you!' he captions this video of him getting his beard trimmed.
Ranveer shaved his beard and moustache, as he will start filming the younger version of Khilji soon.
'I'll miss you,' he captions this.
