As incredible as it sounds, it's not unusual these days for as many as five or six Tamil films to release in a week!

Here’s a quick look at the week's upcoming releases:

Kaaki Sattai

Director: R S Durai Senthilkumar
Cast: Sivakarthikeyan, Sri Divya, Prabhu and Vijay Raaz

The huge success of Ethir Neechal prompted its team -- producer Dhanush, director R S Durai Senthilkumar, music composer Anirudh and actor Sivakarthikeyan -- to get back together for another commercial entertainer, titled Kaaki Sattai.

One of the more anticipated films this week, Kaaki Sattai has generated a lot of buzz while Anirudh's music is making waves too.

Iravum Pagalum Varum

Director: Balasriram
Cast: Mahesh, Ananya Nair, Jegan

Mahesh, who made an impressive debut with director Vasanthabalan's Angadi Theru, and Ananya (of Engaeyum Eppothum fame), play the lead roles in Iravum Pagalum Varum.

The film's director Balasriram makes his debut with this romantic thriller.

Comic actor Jegan and A Venkatesh (director of films like Malai Malai and Maanja Velu) appear in significant roles.

The film is produced by Sky Dot Films’ Balasubramaniam Periyasamy.

Vajram

Director: Ramesh Selvam
Cast: Sree Raam, Kishore, Pandi and Kuttimani

After making an impressive debut with Pasanga, child artistes Sree Raam, Kishore, Pandi and Kuttimani starred in Vijay Milton's Goli Soda, one of the biggest hits of 2014.

The four friends are now all set to rock in director Ramesh Selvam's Vajram.

The film highlights the commercialisation of education in our country today.

Debutante Bhavani Reddy plays the female lead, supported by National award winner Thambi Ramaiah, Mayilsamy and Jayaprakash.

Ettuthikkum Madhayaanai

Director: K S Thangasamy
Cast: Sathya, Sreemukhi, Laguparan, Sam Anderson

Sathya hasn't had much luck with his films.

While his debut film Puthagam failed at the box office, the much-publicised Amara Kaaviyam, produced by his more popular older brother Arya, met a similar fate upon release.

He has now teamed up with director K S Thangasamy (of Raattinam fame) for a family drama titled Ettuthikkum Madhayaanai.

Telugu actress Shrimukhi plays the female lead in the film.

Manal Naharam

Director: Shankar Panicker
Cast: Prajin Padmanabhan, Gautham Krishna, Thanishka

Manal Naharam is directed by the popular yesteryear romantic hero Shankar Panicker (better known as Oru Thalai Raagam Shankar) and is a bilingual.

The Malayalam version of the film, titled Sand City, opened to good reviews last month.

The film delves into the trials and tribulations of Indians who have left their homes in search of a better future in Arab countries.
The film is produced by M I Vasanthakumar under the banner T K M Associates.

Sonna Pochu

Director: Sairam
Cast: Arun, Vijay, Suresh, Alagu, Perumal, Gopika, Sumi, Richa, Lakshmi

Sonna Pochu, a romantic thriller, is produced by Aim High Creations’ P Chitra Murugan, who plays a significant role in the film and has also composed the music.

The film is directed by newcomer Sairam.
