'Not for a moment does CM Devendra Fadnavis interfere in his wife's work.'
Choreographer Ahmed Khan was pleasantly surprised by how down-to-earth the Maharashtra's chief minister's wife is.
Khan was shooting a music video with Amruta Fadnavis, and he's enjoyed the experience.
"She has no airs, no celebrity trappings," he says. "In fact, I have seen more misplaced pride and nakhras in some actresses than in her. She arrives well on time, learns her lines and (dance) steps and shoots the music video with (Amitabh) Bachchansaab in a beautiful red dress. I must say she looks really beautiful."
"Not for a moment does CM Devendra Fadnavis interfere in his wife's work," he adds.
"There was not one call from him or his staff. Amruta made it clear that she was there for the shoot in her personal and professional capacity and not as someone's wife.
"She is a thorough professional, pursuing a career in the entertainment industry on her own strength and not as the CM's wife. There is absolutely no interference from him. No calls while she was shooting.
"Amruta is remarkably focused on her work. She is an aspiring singer and has already sung in a film (Phir Se). Doing a music video seemed like a natural progression," says Ahmed.
The music video was conceptualised by Khan.
"It's the story of an aspiring singer, who comes to an audition and is asked to dance. Bachchansaab plays the man who owns the dance floor in more ways than one," he adds.
Apparently, when the Big B hit the dance floor with the CM's wife, there was an amazing transformation at the shooting location. "Bachchansaab was just magic. It was such a pleasure to watch him dance," Khan says.
