'What an irreplaceable loss to our film fraternity'
Tamil film folk pay tribute to Manorama.
One of the most loved faces of Tamil cinema, veteran actress Manorama succumbed to a heart attack on October 9 in Chennai. She was 78.
She is survived by her singer and actor son Bhoopathy.
In her career spanning six decades, Manorama has worked in 1,500 films in five languages, with leading actors.
She also holds the distinction of having worked with five chief ministers -- C N Annadurai, M Karunanidhi, MG Ramachandran, Jayalalitha and NT Rama Rao.
The film fraternity took to Twitter to express their condolences:
