The Baadshah of Bollywood had a confession to make. And Afsar Dayatar/Rediff.com was there to capture it on video.
Like every year, Shah Rukh Khan celebrated his birthday with the media and his fans, who come from across the country for just a glimpse of their favourite actor.
He waved to the thousands of people assembled outside his home, Mannat, in Mumbai's posh suburb, Bandra.
He cut a cake and talked about his life, and the birthdays gone by.
First, take a look at the pictures. Do watch the video as well.
Shah Rukh does his signature pose.
So many have tried, but the superstar does it best.
(By the way, can you spot AbRam in the picture?)
AbRam takes in the crowds, as Daddy enjoys his superstardom.
SRK gives his son a better view.
That, of course, is the view.
Fans throng SRK's gates for just a little glimpse.
A fan holds up a sketch of the actor.
Some of these fans have been waiting from the night before. But the actor had not been at home; he was at his Alibaug bungalow, partying with his friends and family.
While guests Deepika Padukone and Alia Bhatt took a chopper back, the others took the sea route.
Like the actor said later, he sees his huge fan following as a blessing.
Shah Rukh had filmed this scene from his previous birthday and used it in his movie, Fan.
It was a busy birthday for SRK this year, as his new production, Ittefaq, releases today.
Later, Shah Rukh cut his birthday cake and had a lot of interesting things to say, as you can see in the video below.
