If you cannot get enough of television, grab your weekly TV buzz fix right here! Here's the goss from the industry.
Arzoo Govatriker -- better known as the vamp Tulika in Ek Ladki Anjaani Si -- does not care too much for goodie goodie roles.
Right from Kamini Damini to Ek Ladki Anjani Si and now Kittu Sab Janti Hain, Arzoo has been playing out and out negative characters.
But it looks like her on-screen image is taking a toll on her off-screen life. A little bird from the sets of Ek Ladki tells us that the other day a hairdresser was scheduled to do Arzoo's hair. After waiting for a while, the attractive actress realised that the hairdresser was not comfortable with her and was watching every move she was making.
Surprised, Arzoo asked her why she was hesitant in doing her hair. Explains Arzoo, "I found out that she was uncomfortable with me because she thought I, like Tulika in Ek Ladki..., am a very dangerous lady!"
Later, however, Arzoo's charm worked on the hairdresser and she realised that the real-life Tulika was not a bad girl after all. Talk about the thin line differentiating the real and reel life!
Fresh from the success of her portrayal of Urvashi in Manish Goswami's political saga Sarrkkar, Tisca Chopra is doing power-packed roles again.
She has recently completed shooting for a short film called Open Doors. Based on marital violence, this film is directed by Alankrita Srivastav, who assisted Prakash Jha (Apaharan) earlier.
Ashish Kapoor of Saath Phere fame plays Tisca's husband in the film. Tisca has earlier done television serials like Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki and Astitva -- Ek Prem Kahani.
Sharad Kelkar, better known as Nahar in Saat Phere, is a fitness freak.
"I was a gym instructor in the initial days of my career and wanted to make it big in the fitness industry," he explains.
Though it's been some time since he quit that and became a television star, Kelkar finds it difficult to get rid of his obsession.
Not that anybody is complaining, except for the producers of Sindoor Tere Naam Ka perhaps. If the grapevine is to be believed, Kelkar left his role in the hugely popular serial because it demanded so much of his time that he was not getting any scope for workouts and as a result putting on weight!
Plus, he was also not getting enough time to spend with his wife. Something the former gym instructor was not ready for.
The Kashmiri stunner Kanchi Kaul, an informer from the sets of Ek Ladki Anjani Si tells us, is a mama's girl. The maximum number of phone calls she receives during her shoot is from her mom.
Ask her about this and she will reply with a high-voltage smile, "I am very close to my mother. And she is so concerned about me that she keeps on calling me every now and then -- Kanchi, did you have breakfast, did you take your lunch, are you feeling too tired... In fact, she will even scan all the available newspapers to find out if something has been published about me and call me immediately to inform!"
Kanchi, apparently, is also a gadget freak and loves to be wired all the time!
A secret agent asked to follow Kitty from Karamchand (also known as Sushmita Mukherjee), has come up with a report on what she has been up to of late. Apparently, Sush has been into big time dubbing having lent her voice to films like 15 Park Avenue, Hanumaan and the Hindi version of Chronicles of Narnia. The BSD graduate is also looking forward to do some Bengali films with directors like Rituparno Ghosh.
"I think there is some miscommunication on me not wanting to do Bengali films. The truth is that I am eagerly looking forward to do one," she says.
Sush, it seems, is also helping hubby Raja Bundela with the script of an English film.
