Mohanlal in KootharaDirector Srinath Rajendran surprised Malayalis with a rather unconventional debut, Second Show.

His latest is Koothara, which has superstar Mohanlal teaming up with young actors Bharath, Sunny Wayne, Bhavana, Janani Iyer, Tovino Thomas and Gauthami Nair.

The title Koothara has been derived from the names of the three young actors, Koubrin (Bharath), Tharun (Tovino Thomas) and Ram (Sunny Wayne).

“I have never revealed what the genre of the film is. We are also not giving more clues about Mohanlal’s character of a street gypsy, sporting an unkempt look.

“All we can say now is that it is the story of three youngsters at a crucial phase in their lives,” says the director.

Koothara is produced by Marikar Films. Camera work is by Pappu and music by Gopi Sundar.

The title song has been composed by the music band Thakara.

The film releases tomorrow, June 13.
