Legendary Bengali actress Suchitra Sen has been admitted to the intensive coronary care unit of a nursing home in Kolkata with high blood pressure and fever.
The condition of Sen, who was admitted to the ICCU on Tuesday, was improving, Nursing Home CEO P Tandon said.
The 76-year-old actress, who has been living the life of a recluse, was suffering from high fever for the last few days.
Attending doctor, K B Bakshi said she also had high blood pressure last night, which has been controlled. "There is no cause for concern. She has been kept in the ICCU for isolation and better supervision. There is no cardiac problem," he said.
A close acquaintance claimed that she had also complained of slight chest pain on Tuesday. Her actress daughter Moonmoon Sen visited her at the nursing home.
