Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaya directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon with Simbu and Trisha in the lead will be remade in Hindi by Menon himself.
One of the most successful Tamil films of 2010, was also made in Telugu, which completed 100 days recently. The Hindi version will be produced by RS Infotainment and Gautham Menon's Photon Kathaas and Mumbai's Purple Arts.
The Tamil movie is a love story between a young aspiring film-maker and a slightly older engineer. Gautham himself admitted at that time that there were autobiographical elements in the film. Prateik Babbar, son of Smitha Patil and Raj Babbar is reprising the role played by Shimbu. Trisha, who made Jessi memorable in Tamil, will essay the same role in Hindi.
While the Tamil movie is about a love story between a Hindu Tamil boy and a Christian Malayali girl, the Hindi version will be a love story between a Hindu boy and a Christian Goan girl.
One of the highlights of VTV was A R Rahman's amazing music and he's all set to do the same the Hindi version. Anthony handles editing, art is by Rajeevan and cinematography is by Manoj Paramahamsa.
This will be Trisha's second Hindi film after Priyadarshan's Khatta Meetta.
The film went on floors on Wednesday.
