Two Malayalam films to release today

Actor, writer and director Sidhartha Siva’s 101 Chodyangal that won two National Awards, is releasing today. The other film that releases today is  Parthan Mohan’s One

Here is a closer look at the films.

101 Chodyangal

Director: Sidhartha Siva

Cast: Indrajith, Lena, Minon

The film is about a fifth standard student who has to frame 101 questions. As he is struggling with this his father loses his job. The two stories are told simultaneously.

The film won two awards at the 60th National Film Awards – Sidhartha Siva won the award for the best first film of a director and Minon won the award for best child artiste. 

The cast also includes Indrajith, Lena, Jagathy Sreekumar and Sudheesh. Prabhath E K wields the camera while the music director is M K Arjunan.

Cast: Jagadish, Soumya, Vishnu Nandan, Rosin

Inspired by a true incident that happened in Scotland in 2004, One is about a journey that a group of techies take to a strange place, where they face certain unprecedented happenings. The time span of the movie is from the evening of Friday till the morning of the successive Sunday.

Ad filmmaker Parthan Mohan says that “the dialogues were written at the set during shooting to make it as natural as we can. Even the names of the actors and the characters are the same.”

Prahlad Gopakumar is the cinematographer and Ashwin Johnson is the music director.One
