Kabir Khan's next after Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Saif Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer counter-terrorism drama Phantom is set to release August 28.

Based on journalist-turned-author Hussain Zaidi's book Mumbai Avengers, the film has Saif in the role of an army officer out to seek revenge on the terrorists who masterminded the 26/11 Mumbai attack.

Interestingly Phantom isn't just releasing close on the heels of Salman Khan starrer Eid release Bajrangi Bhaijaan.

It is also the polar opposite of Bajrangi in essence.

“While Kabir champions the cause of cross-border friendship with Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Phantom will see Saif track down and kill Pakistani ISI agents who masterminded the Mumbai attacks,” a source close to Kabir Khan notes.

While refraining from commenting on the content of either film, director Kabir Khan says, “All I’ll say is Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Phantom are two completely different films.

“While the former is a full-on masala film with lots of music and singing, Phantom has no lip-sync songs. It’s intended as a far more serious exploration of a political issue.”
