The actress, who is shooting for a Barjatya film with Salman Khan, has undergone tests for swine flu, reports Haresh Pandya from Rajkot.
Bollywood star Sonam Kapoor, who has been shooting for the Rajshri Productions’ film Prem Ratan Dhan Payo along with Salman Khan and Anupam Kher in the erstwhile princely state of Gondal for the last few days, was admitted to SterlingHospital in Rajkot on Saturday morning after she complained of “uneasiness” and showed “signs of viral infection”.
Sonam, who landed in Rajkot on Wednesday evening and drove straight to Gondal, has reportedly been “unwell” since leaving Mumbai.
Though she is learnt to have completed the shoot of a couple of song sequences in the Riverside Palace of Gondal, news began to trickle in that she was suffering from fever and was even planning to return to Mumbai for medical treatment by her personal doctor.
The film unit, including director Sooraj Barjatya, has preferred to remain tight-lipped about the nature of Sonam’s illness. Through Friday night she is learnt to have had a “severe spell of cough and fever” while putting up at the royal palace of Gondal. On Saturday morning she was rushed to SterlingHospital in Rajkot.
Though the hospital authorities are not revealing anything, a highly-placed source from the hospital told Rediff.com that the actress is under the care of Dr Chirag Matravadiya. However, neither Dr Matravadiya nor Dr Kamal Parikh, the medical director, is ready to say anything and have in fact switched off their cell phones.
“On the face of it, the actress seems to be suffering from a viral infection. The true picture will emerge only after the results of the medical tests are available. The doctors, however, suspect that the symptoms are of swine flu, which has been fast spreading in Rajkot since the last fortnight or so,” the source said.
