He cast the lanky model Anu Agarwal opposite Rahul Roy of the floppy hair fame to play restless sweethearts in the musical bonanza, Aashiqui.

Anu went on to work with the likes of Mani Ratnam (in Thiruda Thiruda) and Rakesh Roshan (King Uncle) before doing a disappearing act.
