Welcome back, Sohail Khan, Subhash Ghai, Bhansali!

At least 10 directors are looking at making a comeback in the next 12 months.

While many of them have been missing in action for three-four years, a couple of them are making a movie after a decade!

We take a look:

Sohail Khan: Back after 12 years

One of the most anticipated films of the coming season, Jai Ho, is a Salman Khan film. It will release in 2014.

Khan has had five back-to-back superhits/blockbusters.

Sohail Khan’s last film was Maine Dil Tujhko Diya (2002).

The film featured him in the lead along with Sanjay Dutt. It hadn't found many takers back then.

It has been a decade long wait for Kaizad Gustad, whose last film was one of the most panned films of all times, Boom (2003).

Despite a heavy duty cast led by Amitabh Bachchan, the film -- which also launched Katrina Kaif in Bollywood -- was universally trashed.

After that Kaizad got into trouble when an assistant died in an accident during a shoot.

He is now making a comeback with the Sunny Leone starrer Jackpot.

He had delivered a successful film in the Mallika Sherawat and Rahul Bose starrer Pyaar Ke Side Effects (2006).

Surprisingly, though, he went into oblivion for close to a decade with no new film to his name.

If the promo of his Farhan Akhtar-Vidya Balan starrer Shaadi Ke Side Effects is any indication, the wait will be worth it.

A veteran of many successes, Suneel Darshan was quite steady at the box office.

However, when his Bobby Deol-Upen Patel-Celina Jaitly-Kangna Ranaut starrer Shaka Laka Boom Boom (2007) didn't do well at the box office, he concentrated on launching his son Shiv Darshan in Bollywood.

The process began many years ago and now with a romantic musical Karle Pyaar Karle, Suneel Darshan is returning to the big screen.

Tashan (2008) was a dream debut for Vijay Krishna Acharya, who got a terrific ensemble cast (Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Anil Kapoor), backing of a premium production house (Yash Raj Films), a zingy soundtrack (Vishal-Shekhar) and cool visuals.

All that was missing was a narrative which totally negated an impressive style element.

If that is taken care of, Dhoom 3 should be a worthy comeback.

His last genuine success was way back in 1999 (Taal) and since then, Subhash Ghai has experienced failure four times in a row.

The last was the Salman Khan-Katrina Kaif-Anil Kapoor starrer Yuvvraaj (2008).

He has promised to go back to basics with a fresh cast in Kaanchi.

The film was supposed to release in the middle of 2013 but as of now, there is no concrete date for 2014. It is a comeback we are waiting for.

Sanjay Chhel had started his career well with a feel good entertainer Khoobsoorat (1999).

There wasn't much to write home about in his last film, Maan Gaye Mughal-E-Azam (2008) which bombed.

The Mallika Sherawat-Rahul Bose starrer couldn't recreate the magic of Shaadi Ke Side Effects.

Sanjay went back to writing. He is now making a comeback with the hard hitting Kill The Rapist, which is making a statement against rape.

After Parineeta, Pradeep Sarkar got quite some flak for Laaga Chunari Mein Daag.

His next, Lafangey Parindey (2010) just about managed to scrape through.

Four years after the release of the film, Sarkar is now making his fourth woman-centric film in a row, called Mardaani, with Rani Mukerji in the lead.

A Yash Raj Films offering, there is secrecy surrounding the film's stage and setting, as is the case with most of their outings.

Forever tagged as the man who gave us Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, one of the biggest success stories ever in Bollywood, Anil Sharma did well with The Hero as well as Apne.

However, Veer (2010) with Salman Khan proved to be a letdown and it seemed that Sharma would take a while before returning to the big screen.

With Sunny Deol in tow, he is now bringing us Singh Saab The Great which looks like a mass entertainer.

His last success as a director was Black (2005) and though he made Saawariya (2007) and Guzaarish (2010) in the interim period, both were non-performers at the box office.

There are high hopes that Ram Leela will mark a successful comeback.

The buzz is right, hype is building fast, Deepika Padukone is the Numero Uno heroine today and Ranveer is being seen in a new avatar.
