Bigg Boss 5 was television actor Amar Upadhyay's first brush with a reality show. Even though he played his cards well, he lost out to Juhi Parmar.

"I have always openly said that I played games," Amar says. "I tried to play a smart game. I used my mind and not my heart. I tested my patience level; some housemates tried to instigate me but I tried to remain calm. I have no hard feelings for any one after the show."

He calls Bigg Boss a "psychological game" and said co-contestants were trying to "psyche" him. "They were kind of trying to poke me left, right and centre but I maintained my cool."

'I was shocked when my name was announced for eviction'

He did not expect to be the first one to be evicted during the finale.

"I was shocked when my name was announced because I expected to see myself in the top three. The best part was that when I came out, the crew said they wanted me to win. That's my victory because they were the ones who watch the whole thing 24/7," he says.

Asked to comment on the allegations made by co-contestants Sunny Leone and Sonali Nagrani that he was a bit too familiar with them, he says, "I have worked with so many female actresses, no one has ever said anything is wrong about me. They know what I am and how I work. If they don't say anything, then who is Sunny Leone?

"She has just come here some time back. I don't care about whatever she has said. I know I'm a family person and my family knows how I behave."

'Shonali has apologised to me'

Sunny had said in an interview that she would not forgive Amar and would not stay in touch with him. "I care a damn. Do you think I want to be in touch with her?

"Excuse me, jiskay pas dimag hi nahi hai Jism 2 jaisi film kar rahi hai (she's someone who doesn't have brains and is doing a film like Jism 2)... I don't want to comment further," he says.

He adds, "In the case of Shonali, she has apologised to me a hundred times inside the house."

'I picked Sunny for rain dance because I wanted us to look the best'

He feels compelled to justify himself further and says, "I would get involved in every task I was given because I wanted to win the task.

"I picked Sunny during the rain dance because I wanted us to look the best. That's it, and there is nothing more to it," he says.

Such incidents won't do him any harm, he believes.

"I was in a game show and I was playing games. You saw the real Amar only when I snapped back because it was beyond my control," he adds.

On being quizzed whether Juhi Parmar deserved to win, Amar says, "Yes. I knew she would win. India ka beta nahi jeeta toh it was obvious ki bahu jeetegi (When India's son didn't win, it had to be the daughter-in-law, referring to their popular roles in TV soaps -- he played a son in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Juhi played a daughter-in-law in Kumkum). I wish her all the luck and cherish every moment."
