Sonil Dedhia was quite disappointed with the trailer launch of the film, which promised a pool party but turned out to be a damp squib.
A sequel to the 2005 hit film, Kya Super Kool Hain Hum is said to be a sex comedy as well.
The makers tried to stick to the film's theme, and arranged a pool party for its launch.
The cast -- Riteish Deshmukh, Sarah Jane Dias and Neha Sharma -- turned up in cool, informal wear but the event turned out to be a damp squib.
The pool party was anything but a party! The actors lounged on pool chairs but did little else. They did not splash around in the pool as was expected. Apparently, bikini-clad women were supposed to up the glamour quotient of the party but they never turned up.
Tusshar Kapoor, surprisingly, did not turn up either even though he was a part of the cast, and his sister Ekta Kapoor is producing the film.
'The film is going to tickle the funny bone'

Kya Super Kool Hain Hum revolves around Riteish and Tusshar's friendship, and how certain incidents in their life lead them to Goa in search of love.
While Tusshar plays a struggling actor who does teleshopping commercials, Riteish wants to become the best DJ in the world.
"Tusshar's and my characters are similar to the first film but the new film has some crazy twists and turns," Riteish says. "Giving us are Anupam Kher, Chunky Pandey, Neha Sharma and Sarah Jane Dias. Everyone has their unique sense of comic timing. I am sure the film is going to tickle the funny bone."
Writer Sachin Yardi will make his debut as a director with this film.
'We are making fun of our own film by advising people not to come with their families'

The trailer compares the film to Karan Johar's family drama Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, and claims it is everything that film is not.
"None of the (K3G) footage in the promo can be used without (Karan Johar's) permission and hats off to Karan, who has a good sense of humour," Riteish says. "Not many filmmakers would make fun of their own film. In fact, we are making fun of our own film by advising people not to come with their families."
'We're not using sex as a marketing tool'

When we were working in Kya Kool Hai Hum, we had no idea how the audience would react to some scenes, as we were attempting something new. When you have a film like this -- an adult comedy -- it's important to maintain innocence," Riteish says.
Director Sachin Yardi, on the other hand, claimed the film was not a sex comedy.
"I don't think we're using sex as a marketing tool. Instead, it's the craziness that takes the film to a different level," Sachin said, adding, "We have consciously maintained a line and haven't gone overboard. There's nothing blatantly crude or vulgar in the film."
Kya Super Kool Hain Hum will release on August 2.
