'I am happy that Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum is a hit'

Krish Jagarlamudi and Rana Daggubati are happy as their Krishnam Vande Jagadagurum is a hit.

"I saw what a hit is. Krish is a filmmaker with a voice and he's a big one too. I was trying to find out why I became an actor and I found Krish."

"KVJ was a big budget film but it became way bigger thanks to Krish and Mani Sharma. When I was typecast as an arty guy, Nayan came on board. All the people were confidence boosters," said Rana who churned out a brilliant performance.

Nayantara, who has a good role in the film as a documentary filmmaker, was also at the event.

She said: "I thank Krish for believing in me. He even asked me to dub. I don't speak the language and I didn't believe in myself. But Krish believed in me and the whole credit goes to him.

"No one has any idea how much I troubled Sai garu (dialogue writer Sai Madhav Burra).

"Rana was a wonderful co-star. He's chivalrous and respects everyone. The team went through a lot to make the film. So I'm happy KVJ is a hit."

Preetika Rao, who acted in Priyudu (Telugu) and Chikku Bukku (Tamil) is back after doing a three-month course in broadcast journalism and script writing from the New York Film Academy.

"International screenplays are different from Bollywood and South Indian screenplays. By doing the course, I was exposed to different perspectives of cinema, and I got international exposure as well.

"It's a feather in one's cap to get a diploma certificate. I got to discuss films from different countries and there were interactive seminars too. People came up with different ideas," said Preetika, who was a journalist contributing to major national dailies before entering films.

"Acting is a short-lived career whereas one can write lifelong. I have been multi-tasking – not restricted to one field. From the point of view of the future, doing this course was the best opportunity. I want to work from Mumbai. Maybe in future I may write a script," said the savvy actress.

Bollywood XI versus Tollywood XI Cricket is a passion with most people in the country, and film stars are no exception. Film stars often play cricket matches amongst themselves (the CCL being an example) or for charity.

One such charity match between (titled the Crescent Cricket Cup) is to be held on December 23 at the Lal Bahadur Stadium in Hyderabad.

The match is to help women's self-employment and empowerment and children's education.

The captain of the Bollywood team is Suniel Shetty, it was revealed at a press conference where a galaxy of stars--Srikkanth, Nani, Tarun, Sanjana, Kaamna Jethmalani, Madhurima and others-- were present, besides, of course, Suniel Shetty.

There are no tickets for the match. Instead, people donate articles by which they are given the donor passes.

The match is organised by Crescent Society (an NGO) in association with TBS Pvt Ltd.
