Sofia Vergara, Kardashians are Forbes' HIGHEST PAID TV actresses

Modern Family's Sofia Vergara has emerged as the highest paid television actress in Forbes' latest list, second time in a row.

The voluptuous Latina, who plays fiesty Gloria Pritchett on the hit ABC sitcom, earned $30 million resulting from a considerable pay hike on the show and her endorsement deals for Diet Pepsi and Cover Girl cosmetics.

Here's a look at other stars who round off the top 20.

2. Kaley Cuoco, Mariska Hargitay

The Big Bang Theory's Penny (Kaley Cuoco) and Emmy Award-winning Law & Order: Special Victims Unit star Mariska Hargitay take up the second spot with $11 million in earnings.

While Cuoco received a pay hike this season along with new endorsement deals including Toyota, Hargitay's entire earnings came from her acclaimed show.

4. Tina Fey, Bethenny Frankel, Kardashian sisters, Melissa McCarthy, Ellen Pompeo

One of American television's most prolific comediennes, 30 Rock creator and protagonist Tina Fey figures high on the list with $10 million and shares the spot with Bridesmaids actress Melissa McCarthy, television show host Bethenny Frankel, the Kardashian sisters and Grey's Anatomy actress Ellen Pompeo.

Oddly enough, Forbes has listed Kardashians -- Kim, Kourtney and Khloe -- among actresses in this list.

11. Cobie Smulders

How I Met Your Mother's Cobie Smulders, who's had a more active filmography than her costars on the hit CBS sitcom, took home $9 million last year.

Smulders, who earns an estimated $300,000 per episode and syndication fees, is set to reprise her role in The Avengers sequel and Captain America movies.

12. Alyson Hannigan

Smulders' How I Met Your Mother costar Alyson Hannigan trails on the next spot with $8 million resulting from $3000,000 fee per episode as well as syndication fee from the highly re-run series.

13. Amy Poehler, Julianna Margulies

Tina Fey's longtime friend and former Saturday Night Live costar Amy Poehler takes up the 13th spot with $7 million in earnings.

The talented comedienne-actress debuted in the highest paid list recently, thanks to the success of her NBC show Parks & Recreation and a million-dollar book deal. 

Poehler is joined by The Good Wife star Julianna Margulies with $7 million in earnings.

15. Lena Dunham, Zooey Deschanel and Courtney Cox

Girls creator and star Lena Dunham, New Girl actress-musician Zooey Deschanel and Cougar Town creator Courtney Cox figure at number 15 with individual earnings of $6 million.

While another show may be in the offing for HBO favourite Dunham, Cox has been receiving syndication fee from FRIENDS while Deschanel's show was picked up for its third season with a subsequent salary hike for her.

18. Whitney Cummings

Star and executive producer of WhitneyWhitney Cummings comes at number 18 with $5 million in annual earnings.

Her show Two Broke Girls has been renewed for a third season too.

19. Mindy Kaling

Comedienne and author Mindy Kaling, at number 19, received a pay check of $4 million in the past year from The Office syndication, her voiceover role in Wreck It Ralph and a follow-up to her 2012 book titled 2012's Is Everybody Hanging Out without Me?.

20. Kerry Washington

Django Unchained actress Kerry Washington  rounds off the top 20 with $3 million in earnings from her television show Scandal, Tyler Perry's film Peeples as well as Quentin Tarantino's Academy Award-winning Django Unchained.
