With Farhan Akhtar and Vidya Balan putting their onscreen marriage to the test with Shaadi Ke Side Effects this Friday, we decided to look at some real-life Bollywood marriages.
Bollywood stars may be above the daily grind that lesser mortals have to go through but the side effects of a marriage is something even they haven't been able to evade.
Mostly, the side effects for most marriages -- the ones that have stood the test of time at least -- have been good.
Look at Akshay Kumar, whose personal style improved manifolds and acting career did a complete turnaround (for the better) after he tied the knot with the super chic Twinkle Khanna.
We decided to look at some real-life Bollywood marriages, and how marital bliss is treating these actors.
Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor
Being Bollywood royalty didn't really cut it for Kareena Kapoor, so she went ahead and married a real life Nawab.
The Gori Tere Pyar Mein actress can't stop gushing about her prince charming even after almost a year and a half of tying the knot!

Theirs was a fairytale wedding that left many stars, who weren't invited, rattled.
It was the talk of the town for the longest time, nonetheless.
Heck, anything this power couple does -- from jointly endorsing brands to having a baby and making social appearances -- makes headlines.
While Ash has settled into marital bliss and is seen making appearances from time to time while her fans wait for an acting comeback with bated breaths, Abhishek has starred in money spinners like Bol Bachchan and Dhoom 3.
Imran Khan and Avantika Malik

In another star wedding that grabbed many headlines, Imran wed his longtime sweetheart Avantika in January 2011.
The young couple, now expecting their first child in June, complements each other's very distinctive sartorial style really well.
Vidya Balan and Siddharth Roy Kapur

Vidya Balan's highly publicised wedding to UTV head honcho Siddharth Roy Kapur took place in December 2012.
During her appearance on Koffee With Karan recently, Vidya's account of her and her husband's mild OCDs and how they are actively making space for each other in their lives was quite entertaining yet rang true with many of us.
And doesn't this pair look striking together?
Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra

Shilpa Shetty's 2009 wedding ceremony, held in Khandala, may have curiously lacked some star power but the reception party she and her husband Raj Kundra threw in Mumbai was by no means a modest affair.
The actress, now a reality show judge, film producer and proud mommy to son Viaan Raj Kundra, is still very much the svelte stunner despite so many changes in her life.
Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D'Souza

It was an event that saw almost the entire film fraternity under one roof.
Riteish and Genelia's wedding was a lavish affair.
Apart from posing ever so adorably with his lovely wife, Riteish has ventured headlong into producing meaningful Marathi films, two of which (Balak Palak and soon to be released Yellow) have gained acclaim and leading the Veer Marathas in Celebrity Cricket league even as Genelia appears routinely at film screenings and cricket matches, proudly rooting for her husband.
Vivek Oberoi and Priyanka Alva

It's been over three years since Vivek Oberoi tied the knot with Bangalore girl Priyanka Alva in a star-studded wedding ceremony.
The couple welcomed their first child -- son Viaan Veer Oberoi -- in February last year.
Things are looking up for Vivek at the work front too -- his last two films Grand Masti and Krrish 3 went on to earn big bucks at the box office.
Lara Dutta and Mahesh Bhupathi

Former pageant queen and actress Lara Dutta and her tennis player husband make for a very dashing couple.
The duo got hitched in a destination wedding in Goa three years ago and have an adorable girl named Saira.
Post marriage, Lara ventured into film production with Chalo Dilli and will soon start work on the film's sequel.
Sameera Reddy and Akshai Varde

Sameera Reddy recently tied the knot with beau Akshai Varde in a low-key ceremony in Bandra, a western Mumbai suburb.
The newlyweds later went on a biking trip for their honeymoon too!
What else may lie for such an adventurous couple ahead but more fun experiences?
Ram Charan and Upasana Kamineni

So when he got hitched to Upasana Kamineni, scion of the Apollo Hospitals chain, it attracted maximum attention from his fans all over the country and abroad.
