Twilight swept away the MTV movie awards by winning five gongs, including the Best Film. The vampire love story won the awards for Breakthrough Performance (Male) and Best Female Performance and Best Kiss.

Actor Robert Pattinson shared the Best Fight award with another Twilight co-star, Cam Gigandet, reports Contactmusic.

The event featured live performances from Eminem and Kings of Leon and was capped off by a series of hilarious skits, hosted by comedian Andy Samberg.

Late actor Heath ledger also won the Best Villain for Dark Knight while comedian Jim Carrey also won an award for Yes Man.
