Malayalam cinema celebrates Onam with some high profile movie releases. Most films released recently failed to enthuse viewers. Much is thus expected from the festival releases.

Here is a closer look at the five films said to be this year’s main Onam films.

Rajadhi Raja

Dir: Ajay Vasudevan

Cast: Mammootty, Rai Lakshmi

Mammootty hopes for better luck with this loud and colourful film, scripted by Siby K Thomas and Udayakrishna.

The hero is a family man, who runs a highway restaurant. His peaceful life is marred by some unexpected turnarounds.

Lakshmi Rai has changed her name and hopes that proves lucky for her.
