Here's what star wives do

That superstars lead super busy lives come as no surprise. But what about their better half? Here we look at nine women married to some of Bollywood's most successful actors, and what they do aside from playing house.

Twinkle Khanna

An actress herself, Twinkle took up interior designing after her marriage to the Khiladi. She once said that "Acting in films is not something that came to me easily. I did not enjoy it from day one and to lead the life of a film star one has to really be passionate about it."

Twinkle's first brush with designing started early -- 16 -- when she worked with an architect for pocket money. But it was after marriage that she took it up as a career. In 2000, she along with her partner Gurlein Manchanda, landed their first project. Later they started their own venture called Mock Ups.

With a workforce of more than 45, Twinkle manages all kinds of interior jobs. She recently designed Rani Mukerji's house.

Suzanne khan

Hrithik Roshan's childhood sweetheart followed her mother's [Zarine Khan] footsteps when she took up interior design. Her mother had designed a huge resort called Golden Palms on the outskirts of Bangalore.

Suzanne attended Brooks College in Long Beach, California to obtain an Associate of Arts Degree in Interior Design and after three months of internship in the US, she returned to Mumbai.

After her marriage to Hrithik, she started Sussanne Roshan's House of Design store. She recently designed Priyanka Chopra's house.

Mehr Jessia

Arjun Rampal's elegant wife and former Miss India was once one of the highest paid models in India along with Madhu Sapre and Milind Soman.

After retiring from the modelling circuit, the leggy model started a modelling agency. She is also the producer of the film I See You along along with her husband.

Tania Deol

Tania married Bobby Deol at a very young age. She started designing clothes for Bobby in his films. Very soon she realised that her penchant for designing extended to furniture as well.

After a course in interior designing, she decided to launch her own store, 'Jewels In The Forest'.

Kiran Rao

Aamir Khan's better half started her filmi career assisting director Ashutosh Gowarikar in Lagaan. She was also an assistant director for Monsoon Wedding, Saathiya and Swades.

Currently, she's writing, directing and producing her forthcoming film Dhobi Ghat.

Seema Khan

She is Bunty Sachdev's sister Sohail Khan's wife and a very well known fashion designer. Seema created Jassi's new look in the show, Jassi Jaise Koi Nahi...

Currently she supplies her designs to designer stores like Oak Tree, Ananya, Bandra and Ensemble, Lions Gate Bombay and New Delhi.

Maheep Kapoor

Sanjay Kapoor's wife is a jewellery designer who recently launched her new line at Notandas & Sons. She has designed jewellery for all the big names in Bollywood like Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor, Soha Ali Khan, Shilpa Shetty and Rakhi Sawant. She also designed for Shah Rukh Khan's film Om Shanti Om.

Malaika Arora Khan

When MTV started its operations in India, Malaika was their first non-filmi veejay. Her work was appreciated and soon she started co-anchoring shows with Cyrus Broacha.

She also did her first item number, the very popular Chaiyya Chaiyya in Dil Se. Since then she has appeared in numerous item numbers. She also dabbled in televsion as a reality show judge [Nach Baliye and Zara Nachke Dikha].

Adhuna Akhtar

After completing her training in hairstyling in UK, Farhan Akhtar's wife returned to Mumbai. She started a salon with Avan Contractor and later moved out with her brother Osh Bhabani to start their own salon called b:blunt. She along with Avan were behind the Dil Chahata Hai look which became a rage with youngsters.
