Billboard awards 2014: Of HOT legs, performances and an iconic hologram

All the action recap from the 2014 Billboard awards held in Las Vegas, a few hours ago!

It was hot legs, an iconic hologram (more on it inside) and even hotter onstage performances at the recently concluded Billboard awards, which was held at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas.

Jennifer Lopez, who won the Icon award, was the show stealer of the night with two performances -- first with rapper Pitbull to present the new FIFA anthem song and then she performed a new single from her latest album.

But before all that unravelled, the Latina turned heads on the red carpet in her signature style -- a deep red sheer gown with a plunging neckline and a thigh-high slit.

Singer Kelly Rowland, fresh off her wedding with manager Tim Witherspoon over a week ago, looked stunning in her leather bra and sheer skirt outfit.

Singer-actor Justin Timberlake emerged as the big winner of the night with as many as seven wins, including Top Artist and Top Male Artist.

Pop star Nicki Minaj, who is currently in one of her more conservative avatars at social dos, worked a black cutout gown on the red carpet.

The crooner also revealed the title of her newest single on the red carpet. Pills and Potions is slated to be unveiled this Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the Billboard awards' official Twitter page unveiled one of the high points from the show.

A life-size Michael Jackson hologram regaled nostalgic fans and guests with the late icon performing on several of his memorable hits. 

Latin popstar Shakira was a total scorcher as she performed on her newest single Empire in a heavily embellished in her body suit and thigh-high boots.

The song is from her new self-title album Shakira which was released in March and peaked at a career-high number two on the Billboard 200. 

Kim Kardashian's model half sisters -- Kendall and Kylie Jenner -- took the red carpet by storm in their racy monochrome outfits.

Rapper Wiz Khalifa and his model wife Amber Rose were, by far, the most intriguing looking couple on the red carpet.

Brownie points for those oversized shades that, oddly enough, are strongly reminiscent of sunnies popularised by rapper Kanye West, who Rose used to date until a few years ago.

Music's own enfant teribel Kesha donned a more sobre look in a lacy off shoulder number as she took to the red carpet.

The pint-sized Ariana Grande was cute as a button as she belted out her recent hits while briefly acceding the stage to Iggy Azalea, who stuck around to deliver a guest verse during Grande's performance.
