The cozy Indian Art Hotel called Le Sutra -- located in the posh Mumbai suburb of Bandra -- was the cynosure of all eyes as Moulin Rouge director Baz Luhrmann and his acclaimed artist friend Vincent Fantauzzo painted murals on the hotel's walls on Wednesday, January 27.

Curious onlookers trooped along to see just what was happening. But all they could make of it was two goras -- not a rare commodity in Bandra -- and whole lot of camerapersons trying to get their sound bites.

The mural that the duo was painting had bright colours, vibrant designs and some words in the Devnagri script.

As the sun set in the Arabian Sea, we were told that the mural should have been done by now but it was far from complete. Someone said, "We're hoping it'll get over soon."

"Yup," we chime in, and continue watching -- just what we thought before the intermission of Baz's most recent film Australia.
