And when he is cast opposite actress 20 years his junior, it doesn't look odd.

Sonakshi Sinha owes most of her blockbusters to Akshay.

She has starred along side the Khiladi in as many as five films in her four-year-old career.

They were most recently spotted together in Holiday.

Another South beauty, Asin has starred in two Akshay Kumar movies -- Housefull 2 and Khiladi 786.

While Housefull 2 went on to become his most successful comedy film, Khiladi 786 wasn't as lucky.

Certified hottie Chitrangda Singh turned up the heat with Akshay in Rohit Dhawan's directorial debut Desi Boyz.

Now this is a pairing we'd like to see more of in the coming times!

In Nikhil Advani's 2011 film Patiala House, Anushka Sharma was handed over leading lady duties which she did full justice to.

A top contender when it comes to Akki's leading ladies who complement his handsome ruggedness the most, Katrina Kaif has delivered some memorable hits with the actor, like Singh is Kinng, Welcome, Namaste London...

However, their last film together Tees Maar Khan was a downer.

Their collective good looks notwithstanding, Aishwarya and Akshay Kumar starrer Action Replayy died an instant death at the box office, presumably crushed under the weight of expectations.

What do you get when two of the hottest stars in the Hindi film industry get together?

Fireworks and then some, as was evident in Sajid Khan's bumbling ensemble comedy Housefull. 

Of course, they haven't always been successful together. Chandni Chowk To China, which saw Dips in a double role, was a complete washout.

Straight out of the size zero hullabaloo, Kareena Kapoor was arguably her fashionable best in Sabbir Khan's ill-fated Kambakkht Ishq, costarring the Khiladi Kumar. 

In a plot that made little sense and was saddled with moronic humour, Kareena was a sight for sore eyes.

Their pairing together has not been that successful, as films like Tashan, Talaash and Bewafaa sank without a trace.

Aitraaz, however, saw some success but it was really Priyanka Chopra's show all the way.

Priyanka Chopra and Akki's onscreen chemistry is crackling to say the least.

Their Vipul Shah-produced hit Waqt remains an entertaining watch even today, as does Mujhse Shaadi Karogi and Andaaz.

Indra Kumar's Ek Rishta had Akshay Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan play an onscreen father-son duo, while Karisma Kapoor played his ladylove.

Too bad that this couple's subsequent films -- Haan Maine Bhi Pyar Kiya Hai and Mere Jeevan Saathi -- didn't do well.

This scorching hot number is still fresh in many film lovers' minds.

Shilpa and Akshay sure knew how to pack in the heat on screen, as evidenced in Main Khiladi Tu Anari.

By far, the best rain song of all time in Hindi films remains this scorcher of a number from Mohra, starring Akshay and his former flame Raveena Tandon.

Many years and inspired rain sequences later, Raveena stands the undisputed queen of yellow sari-clad sensuousness and how!

And finally, the film that spawned the whole Khiladi subculture part of Akki's stardom.

This thriller was a breakout role for both Akshay and his innocence-personified costar Ayesha Julka.
