As part of a social campaign, Akshay Kumar celebrated Independence Day by wearing the Indian tricolours.

‘I love my India! Proudly wearing the Tiranga to celebrate the precious freedom of our country. Jai Hind,’ Kumar tweeted with the picture (above).

Celebrity photographer Dabboo Ratnani shared another photograph from the shoot and added: ‘#Independence Day PhotoShoot, With @akshaykumar .. Spread Love, Laughter & BrotherHood ... #JaiHind!’

Meanwhile, Akshay asked his fans to go and watch his latest film Once Upon Ay Time In Mumbai Dobaara and wrote: ‘Finally my film has released! Go Enjoy Dobaara!!’

'Dilwale se Chennai tak'

Shah Rukh Khan went theatre-hopping in Mumbai to watch the fan reaction of his latest film Chennai Express.

‘Don't be satisfied with stories, how things have gone with others. Unfold your own myth(Rumi) Happy Independence Day,’ the 47-year-old actor tweeted with a picture

He was advised not to visit a few cinema halls for security reasons. ‘Have been refrained by authorities from visiting PVR Phoenix Kurla and PVR Phoenix Lower Parel..Independence day rush etc. Will see you at the other enlisted theaters,’ he wrote.

He shared another picture of him from a theatre (above) and added: ‘Bade bade shehron mein aisi choti choti baatein hoti rehti hain.Dilwale se Chennai tak. Humbled at Maratha Mandir.'

From the sets of Yevadu

Due to the political scenario in Andhra Pradesh, Ram Charan Teja's film Yevadu will release on October 10.

British actress Amy Jackson, who stars in the film, shared a picture and tweeted: ‘Me and my fabbb costar Charan.'

Directed by Vamsi Paidipally and produced by Dil Raju, the film also stars Shruti Haasan.

Family reunion for the Kapoors
