Superstar Shah Rukh Khan was discharged from the Lilavati Hospital in Bandra, northwest Mumbai, on Wednesday night, a day after he underwent surgery on his shoulder.
The 47-year-old actor hurt his right shoulder while performing stunts for director Rohit Shetty's action drama, Chennai Express.
"The surgery was successful. He is doing fine and has been asked to take rest," sources close to Shah Rukh Khan told PTI.
Despite his injury, Shah Rukh Khan refused to use a body double for Chennai Express and performed his own stunts. He also performed at the TOIFA awards in Vancouver recently.
His son Aryan, who is studying in London, flew to Mumbai for the operation.
The surgery was scheduled for earlier this month in London, but was postponed because of the actor's busy schedule.
This is Shah Rukh Khan's eighth surgery, the last one was conducted in 2010 when he was injured while shooting for his home production, RA.One
After he convalesces from the surgery, Shah Rukh Khan will start promoting Chennai Express and begin work on Farah Khan's film Happy New Year,
