These pictures will surely make you feel nostalgic.
Browsing through old photographs is an instant dullness buster.
The exercise is even more fun if it happens to concern a celebrity sharing both prized and embarrassing memories from their past.
With stars becoming increasingly active on Twitter, one gets to regularly witness such delightful throwbacks.
Here’s sharing some retro snapshots from Bollywood’s nostalgic brigade that left us mighty amused.
Rishi Kapoor
Easily one of the best things to have happened to social network, the 62-year-old actor’s zesty, outspoken tweets can liven up the dreariest of days.
Only recently he shared a still from his 1976 release Barood featuring a visibly awkward Rishi wearing yellow trunks alongside a skinny, swimsuit-clad Reena Roy.
While the picture is far from bold by today’s standards, the Karz hero felt rather ‘scandalised’ by this blast from the past.
Amitabh Bachchan
The Big B’s prolific tweets offer a constant update on his thoughts and activities.
Often, he shares pictures from his personal collection and movies.
On Indo-Russian collaboration Ajooba’s 24th anniversary, directed by his friend, colleague and relation Shashi Kapoor, Bachchan shared a candid shot of him waiting in between shots, clad in his superhero costume sans the signature mask. Click here to see more pictures.
Karan Johar
Isn’t that Ladoo aka Rohan Raichand from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham?
Nope, it’s Karan Johar.
Perhaps he kept himself in mind while writing the chubby younger version of Hrithik Roshan in his lavish family drama?
Today, the high profile filmmaker cuts a suave picture.
But back in 1999, while making his smashing directorial debut Kuch Kuch Hota Hai starring Shah Rukh Khan, K Jo is a funny mix of sloppy and sulking.
'I can't believe I looked like this!' he tweets.
Pooja Bhatt
Among the many films Pooja Bhatt made under her director daddy Mahesh Bhatt, Chaahat is least likely to find a mention in the same breath as Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahi or Sadak.
Despite the presence of Shah Rukh Khan, the over-the-top drama failed to create any ripples.
Going by her remark 'What idiots we looked like' against its working still featuring SRK and her, looks like Pooja’s no fan either.
Hema Malini
This photograph of Hema Malini and Dharmendra cuddling up to a pair of cubs, shared by the actress on her timeline could easily be mistaken for a private holiday in Africa.
Only it’s a retro capture of the duo on the sets of their 1976 flick Maa about an animal supplier (for circus and zoos) and the repercussions his actions lead to.
Sridevi
Although Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja was a much-delayed, big-budget, box office turkey, Sridevi is only happy to raise a toast on its 22nd anniversary.
What’s interesting about this photograph taken on the first day of shooting is how different things turned out -- original director Shekhar Kapur eventually left the project mid-way and his assistant Satish Kaushik took over, marking his debut.
Also that handsome bloke standing next to Sri, who happens to remind us of Arjun Kapoor a great deal, happens to be his father and producer Boney Kapoor. The actress would wed him few years later.
Madhuri Dixit
It’s a pity one never got to see two of Bollywood’s most charismatic superstars Amitabh Bachchan and Madhuri Dixit sizzle the screen in anything more than a item song (in Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan.)
They sure came close to working in a couple of projects. But if it’s anything as comical as this picture Mads shared for our viewing pleasure, we’re glad it didn’t work out.
Abhishek Bachchan
There are several photographs of AB Sr and Jr sharing some cool father-son moments on the web. What makes this one, shared by Abhishek on Twitter, special is the movie his father is working on -- Agneepath.
In character as Vijay Dinanath Chauhan, Big B doesn’t seem distracted to have family around while delivering his National-award winning performance.
Clearly, the Happy New Year star got to learn from the best on the field.
Shah Rukh Khan
So it’s not a movie! But we simply HAD to share this hilarious picture of Shah Rukh Khan at his versatile best.
Sharing an old picture presumably from his theatre days/college play, SRK pulls his leg with characteristic wit, 'How is this for varied roles!! How many actors with mustache & curlers have had a meaningful dialogue with a lion?'
‘Nuff said!
