Ace Bollywood choreographer Remo D'Souza, who debuts as a director with F.A.L.T.U., says his next movie will be based on dance and he wants to cast Hrithik Roshan or Shahid Kapoor for it.
The choreographer, who started his showbiz journey with Ram Gopal Varma's Rangeela, says dance will always be a part of him but he wanted to expand himself and direction was the most natural transition.
"My next film will be based on street dance something similar to Step Up. The concept is ready and I am planning to begin shooting it in May or June. I think Hrithik and Shahid are great dancers and they can pull it off very well," he told PTI.
D'Souza, real name Ramesh Gopi, has been the man behind many Bollywood dances. He recently made Akshay dance to his tunes in Patiala House but the artiste says he wants to focus on direction for the time being.
"Choreography is good, I will keep doing it. But I want to do something more in life, I want to climb up and that next step is direction. This transition is very natural for me," he said.
D'Souza says his film, starring Jackky Bhagnani and Riteish Deshmukh, is about the education system in the country where there is no place for the average students, who are often marginalised by the system.
"There are many average students. Not excelling in studies does not mean they are failures. I want to spread the message that such people should be allowed to indulge in a field of their choice. 'Just follow your dreams' is the message I want to send to all," he said.
Originally from Jamnagar, Gujarat, D'Souza is from a non-filmy background and his journey to the top has not been a cakewalk. D'Souza was selected by choreographer Ahmed Khan to dance for a song in the hit film Rangeela.
"My family was not associated with film industry. I had to struggle my way to success -- from a dancer to an assistant to a choreographer and now to being a director. It was a tough road," he added.
D'Souza, whose forte is Hip-Hop, loves Indian classical dance. He became a household name with the dance reality show Dance India Dance (DID), where he was one of the judges alongside choreographers Geeta Kapoor and Terrence Lewis. He will be seen again in the third season of the show.
"I will come back in the third season of Dance India Dance. I do not consider DID Juniors and Doubles as a part to the actual concept. I am associated with DID singles which we started," he said.
With more than half a dozen guest appearances by hit stars, his debut is set to release on April 1.
