It's been a tough year for the Roshans.

Rakesh Roshan was detected with cancer while his daughter Sunaina seems to be on a warpath against her family.

Of course, the spectacular success of Hrithik's film, Super 30, provided the sunshine in their lives.

On September 6, Rakesh Roshan turned 70 quietly, without any fanfare.

"The death of Hrithik’s maternal grandfather J Om Prakash was the reason why Rakeshji’s birthday was celebrated so quietly," a source tells Subhash K Jha. "Plus, his closest friend Rishi Kapoor is in America recovering from an illness. Given the sobering circumstances, Rakesh told Hrithik to put the 70th birthday celebrations on hold."

Meanwhile, Rakesh is scripting Krrish 4

“Nothing is finalised yet, except my son Hrithik. I will never direct a film without Hrithik in the lead,” Rakesh says.

The third installment of Krrish had released in 2013.

Rishi Kapoor had recently said that Rakesh never got his due but the latter is happy with what life has served him.

"I couldn't have asked for more," he says. "As a leading man, I had many hits in the 1970s. Then as a director, I have seen many successes. But above all, I have a fabulous supportive family. What more do I need?"
