Puri Jagannadh to direct Chiranjeevi's 150th film

 A lowdown on what's going on in the Telugu film industry.

 

There has been much speculation about megastar Chiranjeevi’s 150th film.

Fans and others have been waiting for it for quite some time, but Chiranjeevi’s political work has kept him busy.

It has now been announced that Puri Jagannadh will direct this 150th film, which may be titled Auto Johnny.

The film is in the pre-production stage and will be launched on Chiranjeevi’s birthday – August 22.  

It will be produced by the actor’s son, Ram Charan Tej, whose debut film, Chirutha, was directed by Puri Jagannadh.

Gabbar Singh 2 to go on floors shortly

 

Staying on with the star family, Pawan Kalyan, Chiranjeevi’s brother, had signed Gabbar Singh 2, the sequel to his hit Gabbar Singh.

His political activities had kept him busy too, but now Gabbar Singh 2 is likely go into production mode from May 29.

The film will be directed by K S Ravindra and produced by Sharrath Marar, a close friend of Pawan Kalyan.

Devisriprasad is the music composer.

Sudheer Babu’s Mosagallaku Mosagadu to release on May 21

 

Sudheer Babu’s (brother-in-law of Mahesh Babu) next film is Mosagallaku Mosagadu. It is the sequel to the successful Nikhil-Swati starrer Swamy Ra Ra (though the two films are said to be different).

The film’s title is the same as the one made by Sudheer’s father-in-law and Mahesh’s father, superstar Krishna, which was the first Indian cowboy film, made in 1971!

Nandini is the leading lady of the latest film. Bose Nalluri (of DK Bose fame) directs.

Manikanth Kadri (son of the famous saxophone player Kadri Gopalnath) scores the music.

Sudheer plays a small-time thief in the film that will release on May 21.
