A ticket for Premam is the most coveted thing in Kerala these days. The film has been running to packed houses all over the state ever since its release on May 29.
Producer Anwar Rasheed is laughing all the way to the bank as Premam heads for the records set by such recent blockbusters as Bangalore Days and Drishyam.
Though there is no official confirmation, Premam is believed to have been made for around Rs 4 crore. The shooting took 100 days, after some portions of the film had to be reshot.
The gross collection from theatres in Kerala alone could be somewhere around Rs 21 crore, according to trade experts. The film was released outside India on June 11.
The satellite rights and the remake rights will also add to the kitty.
Last heard, many of the big names from other languages are frantically bargaining for the remake rights.

First Look: Dulquer Salmaan in Charlie
Director Martin Prakkat and actor Dulquer Salmaan will team up once again (after the hilarious ABCD), in Charlie. The first look of the film shows the heartthrob in a cute avatar.
Charlie has been scripted by Unni R and Martin Prakkat. Parvathy and Aparna Gopinath are the heroines.
Charlie is produced by Finding Cinema. Jomon T John wields the camera and Gopi Sundar scores the music.
Interestingly, Martin Prakkat made his debut as director with Best Actor, starring Mammootty. He has teamed up with the superstar’s son in the next two projects.

KL 10 Pathu to release soon
Muhsin Parari, who shot to fame as the director of the music video Native Bappa, is ready with his maiden feature film, KL 10 Pathu.
The film depicts the life and culture of the people of Malappuram, including the local slang and craze for football.
Unni Mukundan, Aju Varghese and Saiju Kurup play leading roles in the film.
