If reliable sources are to be believed, S S Rajamouli's big screen spectacle RRR may go to OTT after all, but with conditions.

Sources say the RRR producers have succumbed to the digital lure.

"Keeping the current situation in view, there doesn't seem much of a choice. The movietheatre business is again hit really hard. The non-performance of Kabir Khan's '83 has shaken the Hindi film industry. RRR is the most hard hit," a source tells Subhash K Jha.

The historical will, in all likelihood, go on OTT in the PPV (Pay Per View) scheme.

This means those who want to watch this movie at home may have to pay anything between Rs 400-Rs 700.

This is in addition to the theatre release.

Even if RRR does get a theatrical release despite the covid enforced theatre closures (Delhi) and night curfews in Maharashtra and elsewhere, it will be difficult for this big-budgeted film to break even. To do so, it needs to make a minimum of Rs 275 crore (Rs 2.75 billion).
