Dulquer Salmaan plays a character from the 1930s in Ranjith's Njan, and media person John Brittas makes his big screen debut in Madhu Kaithapram's Vellivelichathil.

Njan
A few years ago, Ranjith had directed Paleri Manikyam: Oru Pathira Kolapathakathinte Katha, based on T P Rajeevan's novel, with Mammootty in the lead.
Now, the superstar's son plays the lead in Njan, based on another of Rajeevan's novels, K T N Kottoor: Ezhuthum Jeevithavum.
Njan is based on the fictional character K T N Kottoor, a poet and a political activist.
Anumol, Sruthy Ramachandran, Joy Mathew, Muthumani, Jyothi Krishna and Saiju Kurup are also part of the cast.
Manoj Pillai is the cinematographer and Bijibal scores the music.
Vellivelichathil
Madhu Kaithapram, who won a National Award for best debutant director for Ekantham (2006), is ready with his new film titled Vellivelichathil.
Media person and anchor John Brittas plays the executive of a British company based in Muscat. He has separated from his wife and is close to a bar dancer played by Ineya.
The film, scripted by writer C V Balakrishnan, looks at the lives of Malayalis living in Muscat.
Others in the cast are Tini Tom, Sreejith Ravi, Raveendran, Lalu Alex, Sudheer Karamana and Suraj Venjarammoodu.
Seenu Sidharth is the cinematographer and Deepankuran is the music director.
