Shashilal Nair is all set to make a film on Manisha Koirala's life.
"I am making a film on Madam M, which stands for Madam Manisha Koirala," he confirms. "It will be on the lines of the (Billy Wilder directed) English film Fedora. To avoid any hassle, I will only work with newcomers. I plan to complete the film in 100 days."
Nair and Koirala clashed last year when the latter wanted some scenes deleted in their last film together, Ek Chhotisi Love Story, as she found them 'vulgar.'
Chunkey's comeback
Chunkey Pandey has signed a film produced by Nikhil Mathur and directed by Hridesh Anand. Fresh Lime has begun rolling on a start-to-finish schedule in Mauritius. Shweta Menon, Prem Chopra and three models from Kenya, Malaysia and Iran form the rest of the main cast.
Fresh Lime is slated for a July release.
Mahesh in demand
Quite a few filmmakers are impressed by actor-director Mahesh Manjrekar's negative role in Sanjay Gupta's Kaante. He has bagged quite a few films, the latest being Boney Kapoor's Run, where he plays a villain.
Abhishek Bachchan and south star Bhumika play the lead roles in the Hindi remake of the Tamil hit that starred Madhavan. The Hindi version will be directed and cinematographed by Jeeva.
Boney had wanted Kareena Kapoor to star with Abhishek, but she was busy with Boney's Bewafaa -- The Unfaithful.
Manjrekar will also be seen in a negative role in Sanjay Jha's Praan Jaye Par Shaan Na Jaye.
Tanuja backs Jatin
Jatin Grewal, who made his debut in Prakash Jha's Rahul, will be seen in Tanuja Chandra's forthcoming Film Star (also starring Priyanshu Chatterjee and Mahima Chaudhary).
"Jatin plays a rising film star who makes Mahima jealous as she is undergoing a bad patch in her career," says Tanuja. "I was looking out for a new face who did not have a particular image. One of my friends suggested Jatin. I had seen promos of Rahul and we called him. He looks like a filmi hero. After Film Star, he should settle well into mainstream cinema."
