The latest updates from Tamil film industry.

Nayanthara

If rumors are to be believed then Nayanthara will soon don the producer’s hat.

2015 turned out to be a terrific year for the talented actress with three back-to-back hits -- Thani Oruvan, Maya and Naanum Rowdy Dhaan.

While she is currently busy with several Tamil and Telugu projects, Nayanthara is planning to bankroll a Tamil woman-centric project that will see her in a powerful role.

Reports hint that Nayanthara will play a collector in the film, which will be directed by Jagan, a former assistant to director A R Murugadoss.

Other details about the film, which is expected to go on floors in a couple of months, are still under wraps.

Samantha acquires remake rights of U Turn

Samantha

Samantha Ruth Prabhu was in the news recently when rumors about a mystery boyfriend and supposed marriage announcement spread like wildfire.

Even before these rumors were put to rest by the pretty actress, reports about her acquiring the Tamil and Telugu remake rights of the Kannada film U Turn have started doing the rounds.

The critically acclaimed U Turn is directed by Pawan Kumar, who is known for his psychological thriller Lucia.

U Turn, which released last week, has a strong female role. Besides playing the lead in both versions, Samantha is looking to produce the film.

Director Pawan will helm the project.

Hansika’s next is with Jayam Ravi

Hansika Motwani

The gorgeous Hansika Motwani is busy shooting for action thriller Bogan opposite Jayam Ravi.

The film is being directed by Lakshman, who had directed the duo in the commercially successful Romeo Juliet last year.

Hansika’s character in the film is believed to have negative shades, while Jayam Ravi will don the khaki once again after doing so in the blockbuster Thani Oruvan.

Joining the cast is the dashing Arvind Swamy, who has a prominent role.

Produced by Prabhu Deva, the film is expected to release during Diwali this year.
