Nawazuddin Siddiqui is on a roll this year.
He has a pivotal role in Amitabh Bachchan and Vidya Balan-starrer Te3n and has been cast as the cop who hunts down underworld don Shah Rukh Khan in Raees as well.
Shah Rukh, who has worked with Nawaz for the first time in Raees, was so impressed by the versatile actor that he suggested director Rahul Dholakia that Nawaz’s role should be given more prominence.
The Badlapur actor admits that his role is unique.
"This is my first film with Shah Rukh bhai. I have always wanted to work with him. For the first time in a film, I've had something substantial to do. I play a ruthless cop who goes to any length. There are no full-stops to my character."
This is not the first time he's played a cop; he played one Sujoy Ghosh’s Kahaani as well.
"But this is an entirely different space," he says. "I was shocked by the lengths that this cop in Raees could go to. Audiences would be shocked too."
