Krishna Raj Kapoor -- the late movie mogul Raj Kapoor's widow -- passed away on Monday, October 1, morning. She was 87.
"My mother passed away at about 5 am today due to a cardiac arrest... old age was another factor," her eldest son Randhir Kapoor told PTI. "We are deeply saddened by her demise."
The last rites will be performed at the Chembur crematorium, north east Mumbai, Randhir said. It was unclear when the funeral will take place as her son Rishi Kapoor has flown to the US for medical treatment.
Krishna Raj Kapoor, who wed Raj Kapoor in May 1946, is survived by her five children -- Ritu Nanda, Randhir Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, Rima Jain and Rajiv Kapoor.
Her brothers -- the late Premnath, the late Rajindernath and the late Narindernath -- were all actors.
Her granddaughter Riddhima Kapoor Sahni -- Rishi and Neetu Kapoor's daughter -- took to Instagram to post a picture and wrote 'I love you- I will always love you - RIP dadi'.
Bollywood saluted the memory of the legendary Woman in White.
