'Nothing serious; it's just a sprain.'
Kangana Ranaut was discharged from a Jodhpur hospital after being treated for a foot injury she suffered on the sets of Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi.
Kangana, who is playing the title role of Rani Laxmibai, tore a ligament in her right ankle while shooting an action sequence.
The actress and the doctor treating her played down the injury as just a "sprain".
Kangana -- who was brought to the Goyal hospital in Jodhpur at 4 am on Wednesday morning -- told the media, "I stumbled and injured my right ankle."
"It is nothing serious," Kangana added, "it's just a sprain."
Dr Pulkit Goyal, who treated the actress, said she has been asked to rest.
"We did an X-ray and found there was no fracture. It was just a sprain after which we put a cast and recommended she rest for some time," Dr Goyal said.
After being discharged, Kangana returned to her hotel, where she rested for the day, and then flew to Mumbai.
The mishap occurred late on Tuesday night when Kangana astride a horse had to jump off a 40 feet high wall with a child actor tied to her back.
"Kangana did not land properly and in an attempt to save the kid from injury," a source close to the National Award-winning actress said, "she ended up hurting her ankle."
"She was taken to the hospital immediately and it has been discovered that it is a ligament tear," the source added.
"She has been advised a week's rest."
Kangana had finished shooting major action sequences for the film last month. Tuesday's scene was the final action sequence left to be shot.
In July, Kangana was injured during a sword fighting sequence when her co-star Nihar Pandya's sword accidentally cut her forehead.
Manikarnika will release in April.
