Actor Jayasurya, whose performances in Iyobinte Pusthakam and Apothecary received rave reviews, plays an upright villager in debutant director Rejishh Midhila’s Lal Bahadur Shastri.
The title has no connection with India’s former Prime Minister, but is the combination of the names of the three lead characters, Lal (Jayasurya), Bahadur (Nedumudi Venu) and Shastri (Aju Varghese).
“They come from different backgrounds but some unprecedented happenings bring them together. There is a love story that is happening in the backdrop, involving Lal and Tara, played by debutante Sandra Simon,” says the director.
Jayasurya’s son Adwaith is plays the hero as a kid.
The heroine, Sandra, was noted for her performance in the TV show, Midukki.
Eldho Issac is the cinematographer and Biji Bal is the music director.
Lal Bahadur Shastri, produced under the banner of Jairaj Films, hits the screens today, November 21.
