Latest updates from the Malayalam film industry.

Action Hero Biju

The 1983 team of director Abrid Shine and young hero Nivin Pauly will be back together in January 2016, with Action Hero Biju.

It will be Nivin’s next release after the blockbuster hit, Premam, which came out on May 29 this year.

Nivin plays a sub inspector, Biju Paulose, in Action Hero Biju. Anu Emmanuel, who was seen in Swapna Sanchari as a child artiste, is the heroine.

Action Hero Biju, with the tagline 'A ride with a police officer', is not the typical cop movie but one mixed with reality and humorous sequences, say those who are familiar with the project.

Nivin is currently shooting for Vineeth Sreenivasan’s Jacobinte Swargarajyam in Dubai.

Shamili never threw her weight around, clarifies producer

Shamili

Last week, there were reports in the media that actor Shamili was making it difficult for the makers of Valleem Thetti Pulleem Thetti, in which she is making her Malayalam debut as a heroine, with her umpteen demands.

The film's producer, Faisal Latheef of Achappu Movie Magic, clarified that the reports were completely fabricated.

'Shamili is a true artiste and we never had any issues with her. I am not surprised that the online publications that falsely 'killed' Jagathy Sreekumar and Mamukkoya several times, came up with such fabricated news,' he said in a statement.

Valleem Thetti Pulleem Thetti is being directed by Rishi Sivakumar, with Kunchacko Boban as the hero.

Jo & the Boy for Christmas

Manju Warrier

Manju Warrier and child artiste Sanoop Santhosh play the lead in Rojin Thomas’ Jo & the Boy, which will hit the screens during this Christmas season.

The audio of the film was launched recently in Kochi.

Manju Warrier, who is currently shooting for Rajesh Pillai’s Vettah, is looking forward to make an impact after the disappointing response to Rani Padmini.

Rojin Thomas is the co-director of Philips & the Monkey Pen, which had Sanoop in the lead.
