In an entertainment industry notorious for its spinelessness, young Ishaan Khattar won many hearts on Saturday, October 23, by showing up at the Pandeys' residence to meet Ananya, with a bouquet of flowers.
Ishaan and Ananya are rumoured to be in a relationship ever since they did the film Khaali Peeli together in 2020.
Though the film was very badly received, Ananya, who will turn 23 on October 30, and Ishaan, who will turn 26 on November 1, struck up a special friendship.
How special, we now know, as the Pandeys stand sadly isolated from the fickle film fraternity after elder daughter Ananya was grilled on two consecutive days by the Narcotics Control Bureau.
"Chunky (Pandey, Ananya's father)is such a popular actor. But after the NCB interrogation, hardly any of his friends from the industry have called him to inquire about Ananya's well-being," a source in the know tells Subhash K Jha.
Ishaan Khattar's appearance at the Pandeys's home is not only reassuring, but also gratifying.
One recalls how Sanjay Dutt's then girlfriend, a top actress now married with children, had refused to take his calls after he was accused of TADA activities.
