Who is playing Sourav Ganguly in the Dada bio-pic that Luv Ranjan is producing?
No, it's not Ranbir Kapoor.
Ranbir has said no to every offer of playing real-life characters, the only exception being Sanjay Dutt in Sanju.
A source tells Subhash K Jha: "Luv Ranjan, who is currently directing Ranbir, did mention the Sourav Ganguly biopic to the actor, but Ranbir didn't show any interest. He is more into football than cricket."
"As for Parambrata Chatterjee, he isn't even in consideration. The producers want an actor with a pan-India image."
Meanwhile, there's a possibility of the cricketer playing himself on screen.
"We can't rule out the possibility of Souravda playing himself in the bio-pic. Who knows Sourav Ganguly better than Sourav Ganguly? But the script is not even halfway ready. The producers will think of the casting only when the screenplay is ready."
