Veteran music composer Ilaiyaraaja has completed composing music for 1000 films with R Balki's upcoming film Shamitabh.

To mark the milestone, several stars, including Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, are expected to turn up at the music launch of Shamitabh in Mumbai.

Amitabh Bachchan tweeted: 'Launching the music of #SHAMITABHMOVIE with maestro Ilayairaaja, who crosses 1000 films. And the 2nd Trailer of #SHAMITABHMOVIE.'

Shamitabh releases on February 6.


Prayers for R K Laxman

Bollywood stars are sending out prayers for veteran cartoonist R K Laxman, who was hospitalised last weekend.

Filmmaker Ronnie Screwvala tweeted: 'Thoughts with R.K. Laxman for a speedy recovery. Now, more than ever, our newspapers needs a dash of satire and humour.'

Balaji Telefilms CEO Tanuj Garg wrote: 'Prayers for R K Laxman. Cannot afford to lose humor in modern living.'


Lara Dutta celebrates her daughter Saira's birthday

Former beauty queen and actress Lara Dutta celebrated her daughter Saira's birthday on January 20.

She took to Twitter to express her excitement and wrote: 'And so my little girl turns 3!!:-) . Big day planned for her! Time flies when your having fun!! :-))'

Lara is married to tennis star Mahesh Bhupathi.

Wendell Rodricks to make acting debut

Fashion designer Wendell Rodricks is all set to make his acting debut with Onir's upcoming film Shab.

Onir shared a picture from the sets and wrote: 'Padmashree awarded Designer @wendellrodricks does a cameo for #SHAB.' 

The film will also star Raveena Tandon and Ashish Bisht.

American actress Lauren Gottlieb, who is currently shooting in Mumbai for Remo D'Souza upcoming film ABCD 2, shared a picture from the sets with India’s Got Talent winner Suresh Mukund.

The film also star Varun Dhawan, Shraddha Kapoor, Prabhu Deva, Punit Pathak, Dharmesh Yelande.
