'Just close your eyes and think that you can do it,' Nathalia Kaur tells Rajul Hegde/ Rediff.com
Brazilian model-cum-actress Nathalia Kaur, best known for her item number in Ram Gopal Varma's Department, seems quite excited about her stint in the stunt-based reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi 6. The shooting is currently on in South Africa.
The 24-year-old speaks to Rajul Hegde/ Rediff.com about how she has prepared herself for the show.
What brings you to Khatron Ke Khiladi?
I won the Kingfisher Calendar Model Hunt title in 2012, and that was my first reality show.
This is completely different from anything I have done in my entire life.
I am really excited because I like challenges and want to overcome my fears.
What kind of fears do you want to overcome?
I wouldn’t let them out because that would make me weaker.
How are you preparing for this show?
I was born and brought up in Brazil, which is surrounded by mountains, and I love activities connected to nature.
I am into all kinds of sports -- cycling, running, mountain climbing, aqua sports, exercise, and mix martial arts. I'm also into heavy weights because I am a body builder.
These things work for my mind and body, and helps me be stress free.
Have you watched the past seasons of Khatron Ke Khiladi?
Yes. Ever since I came to India, I have wanted to be part of this show.
I have watched all the seasons hosted by Akshay Kumar, and it’s been really exciting.
I am not into reality shows but I always told myself that if I want to be part of any reality show, it would be this one.
Rohit Shetty is the host for this season of Kathron Ke Khiladi…
Rohit Shetty is not only strong physically but also the way he talks and looks.
How prepared are you to tackle snakes and crocodiles?
It’s not easy, let’s see when we get there. Obviously, we will be scared of these kinds of tasks but it’s all inside your mind.
Just close your eyes and think that you can do it.
There is nothing that can stop you from doing what you want.
You are making your acting debut in Bollywood now.
Yes, in Rocky Handsome, with John Abraham and Shruti Haasan. It is expected to release in May.
It’s a loose adaptation of the Korean film The Man From Nowhere. It’s a hardcore action movie and John is kicking lots of asses (laughs).
When you are working with a big actor, there is some pressure. John is a pretty cool and chilled out guy.
My first scene was with him. I would say two pages of lines and he wouldn’t say a word.
I couldn’t see his face, didn’t even know my timing and I was so nervous.
Everybody on the set made me so comfortable and prepared me for doing the scenes.
It was a great experience working with all of them. I don’t want to talk much about the role and break the magic of the movie.
Another film is Guns of Benaras, starring newcomers. I play a Punjabi girl in the film. It will release in February.
It was a tough movie. I was rehearsing for almost a year. I have 80 pages of dialogue and that is something I am really proud of.
You were in the Jism 2 poster, which was part of the entire campaign.
It was my second modelling assignment in India. They said my face was never going to be revealed and it was pretty cool.
The poster looked beautiful -- it doesn’t look sleazy at all -- but people were not supposed to know that it was me.
They didn’t have the actress at that time and Pooja (Bhatt) didn’t know who she would cast. That's why she wasn’t revealing the face.
Later on, she cast Sunny (Leone).
You sing too.
Yes. I am a trained opera singer. I have studied at the music conservatory of Rio de Janeiro.
I wanted to become a theatre singer. I am inclined to music. That is my passion.
