When Karan Johar decided to launch three newcomers in Student Of The Year, instead of casting his regular leading man Shah Rukh Khan, many wondered how the final product would look like.
It got, of course, good reviews, and today, the three young actors are doing great in their careers.
Arjun Kapoor, Ishaqzaade

Verdict: Hit
Arjun Kapoor got a great launch pad with the violent romantic drama Ishaqzaade, opposite Parineeti Chopra.
A Yash Raj production, this Romeo and Juliet inspired film was a good success at the box office and resulted in a hit beginning for the actor.
Tiger Shroff, Heropanti
Box Office Collection: Rs 53 crore
Verdict: Hit
Jackie Shroff's son Tiger made his debut with Heropanti.
There was quite some deliberation that went into choosing the leading lady and producer Sajid Nadiadwala put his money into newbie Kriti Sanon.
Sabbir Khan, who had earlier directed Kambakkth Ishq, delivered a hit with this romantic action musical.

Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty, Hero
Box Office Collection: Rs 33.5 crore
Verdict: Flop
Producer Salman Khan procured the rights of Subhash Ghai's Hero and director Nikhil Advani was roped in for the job.
Results were hardly impressive though as the film turned out to be a critical as well as commercial disappointment.
Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty saw mixed reviews with this film. One waits for their next now.

Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor, Saawariya
Box Office Collection: Rs 23 crore
Verdict: Disaster
Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor's first film Saawariya was a colossal flop at the box office.
Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and even seeing a cameo from Salman Khan, the film got bad reviews as well.
The actors were appreciated, however, and have successful careers today.
