In debutant director G Prajith’s Oru Vadakkan Selfie, Nivin Pauly plays a young lad from Thalassery with no real aim in life.

The film, set to hit screens next month,  is scripted by Vineeth Sreenivasan.

Manjima Mohan, a child artiste from films like Priyam, debuts as a female lead.

“The story is set in Thalassery. Umesh (Nivin Pauly) spends most of his time fooling around with friends Shaji (Aju Varghese) and Thankaprasad (Neeraj Madhav). They get involved in some incidents and that takes the story ahead,” says the director.

According to Nivin, “It is basically a self portrait of a few friends who hail from this village in northern Kerala. That is where the film's title comes from too.

“Umesh’s parents have big dreams for him, but he is looking for shortcuts to make a quick buck.”

The first poster and a mock teaser of Oru Vadakkan Selfie have just been released and have been well received.

Oru Vadakkan Selfie is produced by Vinod Shornur under the banner of Cast n Crew.

Jomon T John wields the camera and Shaan Rahman composes the music.
