John Abraham cuts a brutal picture in the first look of his new film, Shootout At Wadala.

A sequel to Sanjay Gupta's hit Shootout At Lokhandwala, the new film is based on a book called Dongri to Dubai - Six Decades of The Mumbai Mafia written by Hussain Zaidi.

John plays a gangster called Manya Surve, based on the man who killed Dawood Ibrahim
Kaskar's elder brother Sabir.

The film stars Anil Kapoor, Kangna Ranaut, Manoj Bajpayee, Tusshar Kapoor, Sonu Sood, Mahesh Manjrekar, Ronit Roy and Siddhant Kapoor, and will be directed by Sanjay Gupta.

It will show the first-ever registered encounter by the Mumbai police, where Surve was shot dead by the then Inspector Issaq Bagwan (played by Anil Kapoor) and his team. The shootout took place at the Vidyalankar Institute of Technology in Wadala, Mumbai, on November 1, 1982.

The film will release worldwide on May 1.
