Malaal opened poorly at the box office, but Article 15 has been declared a hit!

Malaal

Cast: Meezaan Jaffery, Sharmin Segal.
Director: Mangesh Hadawale.
What works: Good performances.
What doesn't: Same old boring story.
Number of weeks: New.
Box Office verdict: Poor.

 

Article 15

Cast: Ayushmann Khurrana, Isha Talwar, Sayani Gupta, Kumud Mishra, Manoj Pahwa, Nassar, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Ronjini Chakraborty.
Director: Anubhav Sinha.
What works: Well-researched, clear-headed movie. Very good performances.
What doesn't: Seems consciously made to flatter the educated, urban audiences and their polished sensibility.

Box Office verdict: Hit.

 

Kabir Singh
