The hits and misses of the week.

Last week's releases Raees and Kaabil released on the same day and ate into each other's businesses, except on the Republic Day holiday.

Both movies are expected to remain below average in the final countdown.

Trade analyst Vinod Mirani gives us the weekly verdict.

 

Kaabil

Cast: Hrithik Roshan, Yami Gautam, Ronit Roy and Rohit Roy.

Director: Sanjay Gupta.

What works: Hrithik Roshan.

What doesn't: Predictable story, slow first half.

Number of weeks: New.

BO verdict: Below Average.

Raees

Director: Rahul Dholakia.

What works: Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

What doesn't: Script and narration doesn't grab you.

Coffee With D

What works: Good performances, a few genuinely funny scenes.

What doesn't: Poorly executed, boring music.
